GS1 Service Terms

Supplemental terms for GS1 resolver, Sunrise 2027, and GS1-linked QR services on pixie.codes.

Last updated: February 23, 2026

1. Scope and Relationship to Main Terms

These GS1 Service Terms (“GS1 Terms”) apply to your use of GS1-related features provided by pixie.codes, including GS1 resource management, resolver configuration, GS1 Digital Link URL generation, and related analytics and verification tools (collectively, the “GS1 Services”).

These GS1 Terms supplement the main Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between these GS1 Terms and the main Terms of Service, these GS1 Terms control for the GS1 Services.

2. No GS1 Affiliation or Certification by Default

Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, pixie.codes is not acting as GS1, is not issuing GS1 company prefixes, and is not certifying your packaging, labels, or deployment as formally GS1-compliant.

You remain responsible for obtaining and maintaining all required rights, registrations, and approvals for your identifiers and market deployment.

3. Your Responsibilities for Identifiers and Content

You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use all identifiers, domains, URLs, product data, and creative assets you configure in the GS1 Services.

4. Domain Control, Verification, and Routing

GS1 resolver operation may require domain verification and routing checks. You are responsible for DNS and hosting control over domains you connect to pixie.codes.

We may restrict, disable, or refuse resolver activation for domains that fail verification, lose routing integrity, or create security or abuse risk.

5. Resolver Behavior and Link Governance

You control resolver link configurations, including default and contextual links, through your workspace. You are responsible for maintaining a valid, deterministic default destination where required for your use case.

Resolver outcomes may vary based on your own configuration, destination availability, network conditions, and client behavior.

6. Scannability, Print Quality, and Deployment Risk

pixie.codes provides design, verification, simulation, and preflight tools to reduce rollout risk. Those tools are decision support, not guarantees of scan success in all cameras, scanners, printers, substrates, or retail environments.

Operational requirement: You should perform your own production validation (including print and scan testing in target environments) before large-scale packaging release.

7. Analytics and Data Interpretation

GS1 analytics may include derived, estimated, or partially available fields (for example, approximate geography, inferred device class, unknown values, delayed data, or unavailable referrer context).

Analytics are provided for operational insight and trend monitoring and should not be treated as audited financial records.

8. Security and Access Control

You are responsible for account and workspace security, including role assignments, token handling, and credential confidentiality. Actions taken using your account, workspace roles, or API credentials are your responsibility.

9. Billing, Plan Limits, and Feature Gating

GS1 features may be plan-gated and subject to usage limits (for example, resources, resolver domains, exports, or verification runs). If payment is not current, GS1 resolver-linked functionality may be suspended or disabled.

Subscription management and cancellation are available through account settings and Stripe Billing Portal where supported.

10. Data Retention, Export, and Deletion

You should export required operational data before cancellation or account termination. After plan expiration or termination, GS1 resolver entities, assets, and analytics may be deactivated and may be deleted according to platform retention policy.

11. Availability, Changes, and Incident Response

Unless a separate written SLA applies, GS1 Services are provided on an “as available” basis. We may change, improve, or retire features at any time, including APIs, verification profiles, and analytics surfaces.

Where practical, we aim to provide reasonable notice for material changes that could affect production behavior.

12. Acceptable Use for Resolver Infrastructure

You must not use GS1 Services to route to malware, phishing, unauthorized credential capture, or prohibited content. We may immediately suspend configurations that create security, legal, or abuse risk.

13. Intellectual Property and Feedback

You retain rights in your submitted content. You grant pixie.codes the rights necessary to host, process, and display that content to provide GS1 Services. If you provide product feedback, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free right to use it to improve the platform.

14. Warranty Disclaimer and Liability

The GS1 Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability limitations and disclaimers in the main Terms of Service apply to these GS1 Terms, including limits on indirect and consequential damages.
